Stanley U. Nweke-Eze is admitted to practise law in Nigeria, the State of New York, and England & Wales. He has been recognised as ‘one of Africa’s 50 Most Promising Young Arbitration Practitioners’ by the Association of Young Arbitrators, and his practice primarily focuses on complex and high-value commercial and investment treaty arbitration, commercial litigation, mediation, and public international law across a broad range of industries, including construction, corporate governance, distribution, energy and natural resources, finance, technology and telecommunications, and professional services.
Stanley is currently engaged in a PhD programme at The University of Hong Kong where he is focusing on the Africa-China economic relationship under international investment law. He holds an LLM degree in international law from Harvard Law School, a second LLM degree in commercial law from the University of Cambridge, and a first-class LLB degree from Nnamdi Azikwe University, Nigeria. Stanley has also won several top prizes during his academic training, including for brief writing and advocacy.
He regularly speaks and writes on topics of international investment law, sustainable development, and international arbitration, including in the context of the Africa-China economic relationship, and has served as an editor of several journals, including the Cambridge Journal of International Law, Harvard International Law Journal, Harvard Negotiation Law Review, Harvard Africa Policy Journal, and Hong Kong Journal of Legal Studies. He is currently a co-chair of the Lagos Court of Arbitration – Young Arbitrators Network, a Young ICCA regional representative for Africa, and a member of the Africa Users Council of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre and Association of Young Arbitrators, among others.
